"I joined Milton Keynes Talking Therapies/IAPT in January 2021, during a time when the world was in the midst of a Covid 19 pandemic. Starting a new job during a national lockdown has not been easy, but I can say that the team have been nothing short of fantastic. People have been extremely welcoming, supportive, encouraging and there is a real sense of togetherness in the team that I feel extends on a daily basis in the work that we do. I have learnt a great deal in a short space of time and I truly believe that this has been, in no small part, down to the support that has been offered by colleagues and management. If you have a passion for helping people and are interested in taking responsibility for your own learning and development then joining Milton Keynes Talking Therapies/IAPT may just be the right move for you."
“I am very grateful and proud to have worked for Milton Keynes Talking Therapies. The work environment is great and consists of a supportive and strong network of colleagues. Despite the difficulties of the past year and starting this role during the Covid pandemic, the team have made me feel extremely welcome despite not meeting them all face to face.”
"I joined the Milton Keynes service in 2012/2013 as a qualified PWP. After a year or so with the service I was fortunate enough to move into the lead PWP role, and lead a small team of qualified PWPs, locum PWPs and trainee PWPs.
After being qualified for over 2 years I applied for a HI trainee role with the service, however I put too much pressure on myself and over prepared for the interview, and I didn’t get the role. I was devastated to say the least; however, the service was very supportive, and arranged for some extra opportunities and training to rebuild my confidence. Fortunately, one of the training roles was vacated, and I interviewed for the role again a number of months later, and this time I got the role! I have happily worked as a qualified HI therapist with the service since 2017, I’m now a qualified EMDR therapist, and this year I am supervising trainee HI therapists myself.
This is a service that feels more like a family than a team. Over the years I have made a lot of lasting friendships and worked with some incredible people. We seem to have a knack of recruiting the right people who are not only strong professionally, but are supportive and compassionate in themselves. We are led by a senior team who are highly professional but also human. They are keen to safeguard the wellbeing of their staff. I can safely say I have never wanted to work anywhere else."
"Milton Keynes Talking Therapies is a supportive, inclusive, and welcoming place to work. Other members of staff are always happy to help in any way, from answering questions to providing support where needed. I am grateful to be a member of this fantastic team."
